Lionel Messi scored his 600th Barcelona goal on his 683th appearance as the Catalan giants crushed Liverpool 3-0 in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final.

Just days after clinching his record 10th La Liga title with the club he's spent his entire career the legendary Argentina star brought up the incredible milestone during his side's crucial Champions League encounter.
Messi struck his 599th in relatively scrappy circumstances, following up on the rebound when the scorer of the first - Luis Suarez - saw his effort hit the cross bar.
But his 600th was fittingly fantastic as he curled in a 25-yard free-kick round the wall and into the top corner to leave Liverpool with a mountain to climb ahead of the second leg.

Staggeringly, he's reached the milestone just days after his arch rival Cristiano Ronaldo did so on Saturday although he managed it in 118 games fewer than the former Real Madrid star, who currently plays for Juventus.
