Everton 1-1 Tottenham highlights & report: Dele Alli scores & Son Heung-min sent off as Andre Gomes suffers horror injury

Son Heung-min was sent off as Andre Gomes suffered a horrible injury before Everton grabbed a late goal in a 1-1 draw against Tottenham at Goodison Park.

A largely dire game had just a couple of bizarre VAR checks to brighten it up until Dele Alli scored what looked like being the winner just after the hour mark.

The huge turning point arrived 11 minutes from time when Gomes crumpled after a foul by Son sent him tumbling into Serge Aurier and causing what looked a horrendous injury.

Son himself, and a number of the players close to the incident, were visibly shaken by the injury, with referee Martin Atkinson then showing the South Korean a straight red card as he disappeared down the tunnel almost in tears.

Gomes was then carried off the field and straight into an ambulance, as Everton chased an equaliser in the 12 minutes added on for the lengthy stoppage.

Substitute Cenk Tosun popped up with the goal in the 97th minute that ended up giving the hosts a point as they could not find another against the ten men of Spurs.

It meant that the Toffees still haven't managed to come from behind to win a game under manager Marco Silva.

The point suited neither side really, with Spurs moving up just a place into 11th but already way behind in the top four race - and Everton still languishing down in 17th with Southampton and Norwich, the two sides directly below them, to play next.
