Free football betting tips: FA Cup second-round preview
After Friday's winner, Nick Hext believes non-league Slough can get something when they face Rochdale in Monday's TV game.
Monday's TV game
Slough/Draw Double Chance v Rochdale (Monday, 1945 GMT, BT Sport 1)
Slough of the Evo-Stik League South and Sky Bet League One's Rochdale must wait until Monday evening for the chance to play for a spot in the third round of the FA Cup. This a tricky task for odds-on favourites Dale as they come up against a home side that has only suffered one defeat in their last 17 outings. Rochdale are finding the going tougher with one victory claimed in their previous four matches and I want to get an interest in the underdogs. This match to end in a Slough win or a draw is on offer at 2/1 in the Double Chance odds and I reckon that will give you a decent run for your money. The non-league outfit have the momentum but it may well up in a replay at Spotland.
Friday's TV game
Danny Rowe to score in AFC Fylde v Wigan (Friday, 1955 GMT, BBC Two)
The second round of the FA Cup gets started with a North West derby between mid-table Vanarama National League outfit AFC Fylde and Sky Bet League One leaders Wigan. It's no surprise that the visiting Latics are the big odds-on favourites to progress with victory but I'm backing Fylde's star player for my best bet in this contest. Danny Rowe is the National League's top scorer and he's netted seven goals in his last five outings. You can back the 27-year-old at 13/5 in the anytime goalscorer odds and that is well worth a look. Wigan can get the job done but Rowe can help make it a tricky evening for the League One title favourites.
Saturday's TV game
Notts County to beat Oxford City by three or more goals (Saturday, 1230 GMT, BT Sport 1)
Oxford City of the Vanarama National League South shocked Sky Bet League Two's Colchester in the first round of the FA Cup round but they now face a much tougher test. Notts County have home advantage against City at Meadow Lane and the Magpies are flying high in second in the League Two standings. Kevin Nolan's men have won all of their last four home games and I see them making it five victories in a row with ease. City are struggling just outside the National League South relegation places despite a recent upturn in form and a convincing County victory has to be the bet in this game.
Saturday afternoon's best bet
Swindon to beat Stevenage (Saturday, 1500 GMT)
Swindon to win at Stevenage looks the premier selection from the eight FA Cup fixtures getting under way at 1500 GMT on Saturday afternoon. The Robins are at their best away from home and they have won five of the last six matches on their travels. David Flitcroft's side are priced up as the outsiders to get the better of fellow Sky Bet League Two outfit Stevenage and I reckon that's worth a decent interest. Stevenage are winless in their previous four games and just don't make appeal to me as the favourites to reach the third round.
Sunday afternoon's best bet
Under 2.5 goals in Mansfield v Guiseley (Sunday, 1400 GMT)
Guiseley manager Paul Cox is up against his former club Mansfield in one of nine FA Cup matches starting at 1400 GMT on Sunday afternoon. The Vanarama National League strugglers produced a shock in the first round as they knocked out League Two high-flyers Accrington on penalties. It's another League Two promotion contender for the Lions this time out as Steve Evans' Mansfield have home advantage at Field Mill. I'm expecting Guiseley to play to their strengths and keep it tight in this match. Four of their last five games have featured less than 2.5 goals and three of Mansfield's previous four home matches have also failed to get above this mark. The advice is to go low on goals.
