It was heartbreak for Crystal Palace yet again last week as they missed a penalty against Everton before losing 2-0 at Goodison Park to slump to a third straight defeat.
Roy Hodgson’s side have only scored once in their last four and haven’t won since talisman Wilfried Zaha bagged the winner at Huddersfield – so the visit of high-flying and free-scoring Arsenal is the last thing they need.
It’s the start of a nightmare run for the Eagles as games against Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United follow directly after the Arsenal game, so things could look a lot worse after that horror run of fixtures.
Unai Emery has really got Arsenal ticking in recent weeks and their run has fired them right into the middle of right top four conversation. The Gunners were tipped up in our pre-season preview to finish in the Champions League spots, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was selected as a Golden Boot winner.
Both of those are looking better and better as the season goes on and, while the defence still needs some work, that added firepower looks too much to handle for the Eagles.
Score prediction: Crystal Palace 1-3 Arsenal (Sky Bet odds: 12/1)
The defence is still a worry for Arsenal, they give away not only too many chances but clear-cut chances at times, but whether Palace can gobble up enough of those to manage to get anything from the game is another question. Emery has a host of options capable of scoring goals while Palace have just Wilfried Zaha as the main threat and without those options it's hard to see anything else but an away win.
Best bet: Arsenal win & both teams to score at 9/4
The Gunners haven't kept a Premier League clean sheet on their travels this season while Palace fans have incredibly yet to celebrate a goal at Selhurst Park so something's got to give. Arsenal have given chances to almost every team they've faced so far, and Palace have to take a chance sooner or later so those factors go into them at least bagging one on Sunday.
Goalscorer bet: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to score anytime at 11/8
He's only played the full 90 minutes twice this season, but Aubameyang is looking the real deal in the last couple of games as he bagged a brace off the bench in his last two league games. That's some form to take into this game and he's that kind of forward who can really put a run of goals together so it's a solid chance ot him hitting the net again.
