The Champions League is back and Man City face Real Madrid over two legs. With the Citizens' future participation uncertain in the coming seasons, we ask a fan group if Pep Guardiola's side can go all the way.
"The biggest reason they can win the Champions League this season is because on their top level, City have the ability to beat any team in the world.
"The Champions League has always been a progression thing for City, every year their focus has been on winning the Premier League title and getting as far as possible in Europe.
"But now, having won consecutive Premier League titles, and finding themselves chasing down Liverpool once again, it seems that now would be a good time to go all out for the Champions League title before Pep leaves."
"The reasons they couldn’t is that they still lack the experience of playing and beating the biggest team in the latter stages.
"The furthest they got in the competition came under Manuel Pellegrini where they failed to get past Real Madrid in the semi-finals.
"City have the quality to win the Champions League, but quality isn’t the only thing a team needs to win the trophy. They need the right mentality and know-how to grind out results and performances should the need arise.
"A bit of luck here and there also helps. If the Champions League is a sprint, then the Premier League is a marathon.
"For City to win the domestic quadruple last season, the Champions League is the final piece of the jigsaw for the club."
