WATCH: Darts star Michael Smith leaps off the Auckland Sky Tower to raise money for Parkinson's UK

Gary Anderson challenged his former protege Michael Smith to raise £1,000 for Parkinson's UK by jumping off the Auckland Sky Tower. Here's how he got on...

The former World Youth champion may well have nerves of steel to hit bullseyes under pressure from just under eight feet away but on this occasion he had to land on a different type of target from nearly 650 feet high!

In this must-watch video from the PDC's official YouTube page, Smith is also interviewed about his history with two-time world champion Anderson, who mentored him during his early years on the circuit yet still "argue like cat and dog", as well as his hopes for the future.

Filming of this video was prior to the recent legs of the 2017 World Series of Darts which took some of the sport's biggest names to Auckland, Melbourne and Perth.

The next major event on the PDC calendar is the Champions League of Darts from September 16-17 and you can back second favourite Gary Anderson at 9/2 for glory with Sky Bet while Michael van Gerwen obviously heads the betting at 4/5.

Here is a recap of all this season's World Series of Darts events and the dates of the remaining two tournaments:
