World Darts Championship: Paul Lim qualifies for the Alexandra Palace at the age of 65

Paul Lim will be back at the Alexandra Palace this December for his 24th appearance at a World Championship and 12th in the PDC version.
The legendary Singapore star, now 65, is showing no signs of retiring any time soon and he booked his Ally Pally return with another strong showing on the PDC Asian Tour over the weekend, which means he and Lourence Ilagan can't be caught in the Order of Merit with two events remaining.
When he walks out in front of that packed crowd and the millions of darts fans watching around the world over the Festive period, it'll be almost 38 years after he made his World Championship debut back in 1982.
Eight years later at the Lakeside he entered folklore with his nine-dart heroics - which incidentally earned him £52k (a prize only bettered by Lowe's 102k back in 1984 and Phil Taylor's £100k in the 2002 World Matchplay) - and ever since then he's been one of the most popular figures in the sport.
He again sent the darting world into meltdown when coming so, so close to a fairytale perfect leg against Gary Anderson in the 2018 World Championship after he'd earlier raised the roof with a preliminary round victory.
We don't get to see much of the ageless 65-year-old in the UK but he remains a quality operator who loves to work the fans.
Don't forget he helped Singapore reach the World Cup quarter-finals in 2017, beating Gary Anderson & Peter Wright along the way, while he also defeated Rob Cross 4-1 in a singles rubber during the 2018 edition and helped his side beat Wales in this year's event.
