Chris Dobey topped his PDC Home Tour group on a night when Hong Kong star Kai Fan Leung was playing in the middle of the night local time.
Hollywood, who started the evening by throwing darts at a picture of friend and north-east rival Glen Durrant, was hot favourite to progress to next month's second round and justified those expectations by defeating Ciaran Teehan 5-2 and Ron Meulenjamp 5-1 with averages of 94 and 97 respectively.
Meulenjamp responded with a 5-1 victory over Teehan in the penultimate match of the night which subsequently guaranteed Dobey top spot ahead of his clash with the winless Fan Leung.
The 36-year-old, who earned his first PDC Tour Card back in January, lost 5-4 to Meulenkamp in his opening match which was being played at around 3am Hong Kong time before being blown away 5-1 in his second.
However he saved his best until 5am when he averaged 97 in a superb 5-4 triumph over the world number 20 from Northumberland, whose mark of 102 was his highest of a night, before celebrating with his pet dog Bauble.
Play begins at 1930 BST each night
