Playing in just his second European Tour event, Glen Durrant got the better of Jamie Hughes in round one of the German Darts Grand Prix.
The reigning BDO champion took out 114 for a 3-0 lead before Hughes got on the board.
Durrant responded by throwing a stunning 170 checkout and with Hughes missing opportunities, went on to complete a straightforward victory.
Another former BDO winner, Stephen Bunting, beat old sparring partner Alan Norris 6-1, averaging almost 100 and throwing in a 142 checkout of his own for good measure.
On a day of finishing fireworks, Michael Rasztovits took out 110 on his way to a 6-3 victory over Chris Dobey, while Ricky Evans took out 132 as he beat Gabriel Clemens 6-5.
There were no fewer than three 100-plus finishes for Arron Monk in his 6-3 win over Marko Puls, whereas a 161 finish wasn't enough for Mark Wilson as he lost 6-2 to Ted Evetts.
Kim Huybrechts was among the bigger names to scrape through in a 6-5 defeat of Dragutin Horvat, with Keegan Brown a winner by the same scoreline against Magnus Caris.
Josh Payne took out 149 in the second leg of a 6-2 victory over Jyhan Artut, for which his reward is a clash with Mensur Suljovic as the seeds enter the draw on Sunday.
