PDC Home Tour: Fixtures, Results & Format
The Demolition Man brought the house down with a superb comeback from 4-1 down in his opening match to defeat rising star Bradley Brooks 5-4, although neither player were happy with their averages in the low 80s.
Webster, who was group favourite and the highest ranked player of the quartet at 27 in the world, upped his game with an average of 90 to defeat Scott Baker 5-2 and take a firm grip of top spot.
His final opponent Andy Hamilton had earlier bounced back bounced back from a 5-4 defeat against Baker by beating Brooks 5-3 to put himself in contention of qualifying for the second round.
However, Webster was just that bit too strong for the former World Championship runner-up, averaging six points more with 95 during a 5-3 victory which saw him progress with a 100% record.
In the night's other game, Brooks cruised to a 5-1 triumph over Baker.
Play begins at 1930 BST each night
