Championship promotion odds: Who is going up to the Premier League?

Just as the Sky Bet Championship promotion race seems to be close, it looks as though Ipswich have all but sealed promotion to the Premier League.

Points hauls out of the window

Leicester, Leeds and Ipswich have set title-winning pace all season.

Across the past 10 Championship seasons the average points needed to win the title was 89.6 with 84.6 required to finish in the top two. These averages are worked out from the totals of the teams who finished second or third, with title and promotion winners regularly going beyond these numbers.

With the Foxes now promoted as champions, one of Leeds or Ipswich will be condemned to the play-offs despite attaining at least 90 points, with it looking like it will be Leeds.

What are the remaining fixtures?

Ipswich in action against Southampton

IPSWICH's win at Coventry in midweek means they require just a point to secure an incredible promotion to the Premier League.

Kieran McKenna's side host Huddersfield on the final day, with the Terriers all but relegated, needing a miracle to survive.

On paper, it looks a formality that the Tractor Boys will be playing in the top flight next season, with the bookies making it 1/33 they win promotion - an implied probability of 97.1%.

Farke

LEEDS' hopes collapsed during a shock 4-0 defeat at QPR in their penultimate match, and they take on Southampton on the final day knowing they need a lot of help from their Yorkshire rivals.

What are the permutations?

A point for Ipswich at home to Huddersfield will see them promoted.

Leeds must beat Southampton and hope Huddersfield beat Ipswich in order to finish second. That double is priced at 17/1 with Sky Bet.
