Horse racing tips: Timeform preview and selections for evening action

Timeform highlight two horses of interest at Aintree this evening.

SOUL ICON - 18:20 Aintree

Soul Icon was prolific over hurdles and he looks a winner-in-waiting over fences. He had a stuttering start in this sphere, but is really getting the hang of things now, narrowly beaten at Kempton in March and again finding just one rival too strong at Ayr last time.

He lost ground around halfway on that occasion but he made good progress in the second half of the race, keeping on well in the closing stages to take second near the finish. He was beaten only by a thriving sort that day and is well up to winning races from this sort of mark.

Two Year Olds: Buying The Dream - Richard Fahey

KINONDO KWETU - 19:30 Aintree

Kinondo Kewtu can boast a strong record at this track - two-time course and distance winner - and he looks poised to repeat his success in this race last year.

He ran a cracker when hitting the frame in a competitive handicap at the Grand National meeting two starts back and it is probably best to ignore his latest run at Sandown where he was unable to get involved from off the pace. He remains on a competitive mark and is sure to launch another bold bid.
